Zambia’s worst drought in 40 years has led to worsening hunger - UNFPA and partners are responding to make sure this doesn't lead to poor health outcomes. Our staff are on the ground, mobilizing partners in remote areas to ensure that mobile clinics reach those who need them most.
Our dedicated team, like Leonard in Southern District, use their deep connections within the community to ensure that even the most isolated communities receive help. Our strong network and ongoing support to the Ministry of Health meant that we were prepared for two emergencies this year–first cholera, and now drought. UNFPA’s partnership with the Government of Sweden continues to ensure critical support to young people in the most vulnerable situations.
