UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund, is the lead UN agency for delivering a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe and every young person's potential is fulfilled. UNFPA’s strategic plan focuses on three transformative results of ending preventable maternal deaths; ending unmet need for family planning; and ending gender-based violence and harmful practices.

UNFPA Zambia is currently implementing its 8th Country Programme (8CP) focused on three strategic areas (i) sexual and reproductive health and rights; (ii) adolescents and youth; (iii) and population dynamics. The 8CP also mainstreams gender, human rights and disability in its programming.  A Country Programme Evaluation (CPE) is scheduled to be undertaken in 2019 that will document key achievements against set objectives as well as its contribution to the 7th National Development Plan. The findings of the Evaluation will inform the programme direction for the remaining period and the next country programme.

The UNFPA Zambia Country Office is inviting interested national consultants (2) to apply as specialists for the following thematic areas of the CPE:

  • Sexual and reproductive health expert with a special focus on adolescents and youth; gender
  • Population and development expert including gender mainstreaming

Detailed Terms of Reference for the CPE including the roles and responsibilities of the evaluation team are attached above.
