The policy brief presents an analysis of the national assessment on the status of Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (EmONC) in Zambia, as well as key recommendations for improving maternal and newborn health outcomes.To prevent maternal and neonatal deaths, the Government of Zambia is providing Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (EmONC) services in health facilities, to address complications related to pregnancy and childbirth. The Government of Zambia with support from UNFPA assessed 384 health facilities across Zambia to identify gaps as well as areas for improvement.
