UNFPA Zambia, in collaboration the Ministry of National Development Planning, launched the 2020 State of World Population Report under the theme "Against my will: defying the practices that harm women and girls and undermine equality"; as well as the 2020 World Population Day under the theme "Putting the Breaks on COVID-19: How to Safeguard the Health and Rights of Women and Girls Now”. The dual launch made the case that investing in women and girls can yield significant socio-economic dividends, including contributing to the achievement of Zambia’s Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals aimed at improving health and well-being for all by 2030.
